Quaker’s W605 Series windows were selected for this $60 million dollar renovation and addition. The school district’s vision for windows paired nicely with Quaker’s many options and services, including:
- Triple glazing which afforded tremendously low U-Values and Solar Heat Gains
- Both Project-Out operating units and Fixed units were contained in continuous frame designs, thus allowing for singular unit installs instead of additional and costly on-site mulling
- Wood interior to match the previous windows
- A custom exterior color — Classical Gold — was requested. With Quaker’s in-house, custom color capabilities, we were able to affordably accommodate the client’s request.
The project was completed in August of 2022 just in time for the start of fall classes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quaker Commercial Windows and Doors are designed to significantly enhance the energy efficiency of educational buildings. Our products feature advanced Low-E (low emissivity) glass packages that effectively reduce solar heat gain while minimizing heat loss. This results in a low SGHC and U-factor, which are essential for maintaining optimal indoor temperatures and reducing energy costs. Additionally, our windows and doors are equipped with thermally efficient frames that incorporate advanced thermal breaks. These breaks serve as barriers to heat flow, further enhancing the overall energy performance of the building. By integrating these technologies, Quaker ensures that educational facilities can achieve superior energy efficiency, contributing to a sustainable and cost-effective environment.
Safety and security are of utmost importance in educational settings, and Quaker Commercial Windows and Doors are equipped with features to address these concerns. Our products utilize tempered glass, which is designed to shatter into small, blunt pieces rather than sharp shards, reducing the risk of injury. Additionally, we offer laminated glass, which consists of multiple layers of glass with an interlayer that holds the glass together even when broken, providing an added level of security. Furthermore, our products come with robust hardware options, including multi-point locking systems and reinforced frames, to prevent unauthorized access and enhance the overall safety of the building.
Minimizing noise pollution in educational environments is vital for maintaining a conducive learning atmosphere. Quaker’s windows and doors are engineered to provide exceptional sound dampening capabilities, measured through Sound Transmission Class (STC) and Outdoor-Indoor Transmission Class (OITC) ratings. Our windows achieve high STC and OITC ratings by utilizing optional thicker glass and laminated glass configurations, which effectively block and absorb sound waves. These acoustic features ensure that external noise from traffic, construction, or other sources is significantly reduced, allowing for quieter and more focused classroom and lecture hall environments.
Yes, Quaker Commercial Windows and Doors can be tailored to meet the unique aesthetic and functional requirements of various educational institutions. We offer a wide range of customization options, including different styles, colors, finishes, and hardware choices. Our design team works closely with architects and builders to ensure that the windows and doors not only complement the architectural style of the building but also meet specific functional needs such as ventilation, accessibility, and daylighting. This flexibility allows educational institutions to create visually appealing and highly functional spaces that enhance the overall learning environment.
Windows in high-traffic educational environments must be durable and easy to maintain. Quaker Commercial Windows and Doors are constructed with high quality materials that ensure long-lasting performance even under heavy use. Our products feature durable AAMA 2604/2605 finishes that resist wear and tear, reducing the need for frequent maintenance. Additionally, we offer windows with easy-to-clean designs and low-maintenance hardware, which simplifies the upkeep process for facility managers. The durability and low maintenance requirements of our windows help educational institutions minimize operational disruptions and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient learning environment.
