Life Cycle Impacts
Quaker’s windows and doors, made primarily of all-aluminum, aluminum-clad wood or uPVC vinyl, are designed for longevity and sustainability.
Aluminum, which constitutes much of the framing, remains durable indefinitely. According to The Aluminum Association, 75% of all aluminum ever produced is still in use.
Similarly, uPVC vinyl used in Quaker’s vinyl windows and doors can last over 100 years under ideal conditions, while recyclable cardboard is commonly used for packaging materials.
Environmentally Conscious
VOCs
Our powder paint process emits near zero Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC). The choice of powder coat paint in lieu of liquid coat paint means we produce less of these harmful air pollutants. It also leads to less hazardous waste.
Embodied Carbons
To reduce embodied carbons, Quaker uses high-quality materials such as extruded aluminum (vs. roll-form) and thicker, 100% uPVC. This reduces repairs and maintenance after installation.
Recycling INITIATIVES
Sustainability is central to Quaker’s operations, including partnerships with suppliers who emphasize recycling.
Our principal glass supplier reports their glass contains approximately 22-39% of post-industrial (pre-consumer) scrap. Their glass does not contain any post-consumer scrap.
Quaker’s in-house recycling directives encompass aluminum, vinyl and glass scrap — all sold to recyclers for re-use.
By collecting and reusing non-hazardous overspray powder, we are able to achieve a near 100% use of paint coating to limit unnecessary waste.
BIODIVERSITY THOUGH RECYCLING

Our practices exemplify Quaker’s commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability in all facets of production.
From Land to the Sea
Scrap uPVC vinyl is repurposed through recycling vendors for seawall construction, while wood interiors are sourced from Forest Stewardship Council-certified suppliers. These practices exemplify Quaker’s commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability in all facets of production.
